Ahhhh... Boothbay! 22-27 Aug 2015

When planning our trip north everyone we spoke with said we needed to stop in Boothbay.

High school classmate, Pat (Larson) and hubby Deke, would be at their Starfish Cottage the third week of Aug and suggested we visit them. Done deal!

I went to school with siblings Pat, JoAnn, and Tom Larson. Their younger brother Scott and his wife Corinne live in Boothbay with their two daughters - Maggie and Kate.  While I didn't know Scott growing up he made us feel like family. We can't thank them enough for introducing us to their Maine.

Scott and Corinne live in the old and remodeled Lawnmere Inn on Townsend Gut. Scott let us use one of his moorings, and his jeep, while we were visiting. They also own the Newagen Seaside Inn on the southern tip of Southport island.

Saturday Scott took us all on a tour of Five Islands, Linekin Bay, and Ram Island in his powerboat. WHEE!!! We don't usually go that fast and it was exciting to cover so much ground in such a short time.

Sunday, Cathy Liese (also from HS in the PI) visited with her hubby Mike.  We did another s-l-o-w harbor tour on our boat. JoAnn and Katy stayed dry this time.

Then Scott and Corinne showed us around Newagen Inn and pointed out all the changes and improvements they had made over the years.

Games and Candlepin bowling!

We stayed at Starfish Cottage on Ocean Point with Pat, Deke, JoAnn, and JoAnn's friend Katy. Five bedrooms so there was more than enough room!

Walks on the rocks, cocktails, reading, puzzles, movie night, rainbows, ice cream, lobster, card games, fog, late nights talking into the wee hours of the morning.

By 5am it was a big decision whether to go to bed or just stay awake. :)

Mark and Deke reverse the door hinges on the fridge.

Lunch at the Lobster Dock, the General Store, and Robinson's Wharf; dinner at Kaler's Lobster House; brunch at the Ocean Point Inn.

What a relaxing time with old and new friends.

We waited out the fog and on Thursday we were underway.
